We had a wonderful stay at Point of View. The layout of the house is perfect, the kitchen is well stocked, and the beds are very comfortable. You can tell the owners have gone to great lengths to make renters feel welcome. We really enjoyed sitting out at the firepit and looking at the stars every night. What I will miss the most is having coffee on the deck in the morning and watching the first light hit the mountains. The view is amazing.

Not really sure where to start from. The experience was so great that it’s hard to pick one good thing to start with. Please get ready to read a LONG review. If you have the time for that, you will make the decision to stay at this property right after reading this review. 🙂

We were a party of nine (and a dog!). My husband, our 15-year old daughter, our 80-year old aunt, sister-in-law with two 20+ year old two kids and their respective girlfriends/boyfriends. We drove all the way to Brevard from South Florida, stopping in Savannah, GA, to spend the night.

The road to the house is winding and, at first, I got a little anxious because I am so used to living in a flat place like Florida. The hill and the curves to get to the house are somewhat interesting but the bonus that you get upon arriving at the top is worthwhile and priceless. I would recommend arriving at daylight. First timers may get a little lost if it’s too dark because the road we must take after going up is hidden even though there are signs pointing to the property. The dark may make you miss those signs (or not!) Nothing to be worried about, you will find it and you will love it.

The house is simply… Ahhhhhhhh!! What a fantastic place! The entry door is in the main level. There you have a lovely kitchen, next to it there is a big rectangular dining table that would fit all of us. The dining area is open to the living room where the TV is and one of the fireplaces. BTW, there is a pair of binoculars in a little case by the fireplace for your enjoyment. 🙂

Still in the main floor there is a bedroom with a queen bed and there is a bathroom next to it that can also be used by other guests in that floor. Sliding doors everywhere take you to a wraparound porch and a breathtaking view. Lounge chairs and a dining table outside allows you to enjoy breakfast out while allowing that wonderful view fill your soul with joy.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms with a full bed each. There is one bathroom upstairs that is shared by both bedrooms and a small living space with a couch and a view to downstairs, the living space. Wonderful!

Downstairs there are two bedrooms: one with a queen bed and another small one with a twin, perfect for our daughter and her Instagram’s posts. 🙂 There is also a bathroom to be shared downstairs, a living space with a TV and a fireplace. There is also a sliding door that takes you outside to the beautiful view.

House is perfect! It came with all you need and more.

We absolutely loved this house! We had 3 couples enjoy this wonderful home with a gorgeous view. We live on the coast and wanted a mountain getaway. We have all been to Brevard and all agreed that this home was the best! We were very close to downtown and what we enjoyed most was the view! It overlooked the valley below and you also had beautiful Mountain views. There were 3 levels and each couple had their personal space. We had breakfast together, peaceful time reading on the deck, watching football games in the great room, grilling out, and ABSOLUTELY amazing views of the stars and first time views of the Milky Way for a few of us- I just can’t say enough about this wonderful home! We will be back!

Our expectations were indeed great, but the reality that awaited us here was even greater. This lovely home with its breathtaking views was also incredibly clean and neat inside and contained a spacious kitchen more fully stocked than most upscale homes. Drew was always just one phone call away to answer eagerly any of our questions. We stayed ten days and each was delightful thanks to this glorious mountain home.

Everything in the house seemed in working order, and so clean.

Again, thank you for your sweet home.  There is a possibility we may need to rent again in December if the fish are biting.  I hope that we can stay with you then.

Spectacular views, comfortable, clean–a great mountain getaway!

Point of View was the perfect getaway for our group! Absolutely amazing view from inside and on the deck. The house felt larger than it looks in the photos and is clean/well maintained. Only warning would be the drive up to the house is steep and very curvy and the driveway is gravel/a little rough so I would recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle. However, our friends Honda Accord was able to make it up, just with extra caution on the driveway. Absolutely loved this house, secluded and yet close to Brevard and great hiking locations! Thank you so much to the owners!

We had a fabulous Labor Day weekend in this comfortable cabin. The kitchen was well stocked, the linens clean and plenty available and the beds comfortable. We arrived in the dark, but the additional directions provided by the owners made it easy to find. We had several wonderful evenings with dinner at the roomy table and then enjoying the sunset and view with our family that lives in the area. We made many special memories here! We will be back.

What a perfect vacation rental. The view was amazing, the house was clean and well equipped. The location is close to town, yet also close to all of the hiking and biking in Dupont and Pisgah. We will be back next year.

Overall, the house was warm and welcoming. However, the house(I’m sure because of the heatpump) was cold! We had to turn the thermostat way up to warm up the house. I’d recommend having a ceiling fan in the master bedroom to circulate the air. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything needed to cook with. The driveway was bumpy. I suggest anyone that drives a car that sits low to the ground to take precaution and drive into the homesite very slowly. Thank you for allowing us to use your home and bring in 2015! Very convenient to town! And the view is beautiful. The owners go out of their way to make sure you have adequate directions to the house and also gives you feedback after your checkout. I would recommend this home to those that want a home away from home.

Need I say more? It’s amazing. Point of View is the perfect home away from home. Everything we needed or wanted was here! We loved the waterfalls in Dupont. Also visited Connestee Falls. Rode to Asheville and played at the fun park and WNC Nature Center, worth the trip for the kids. That view! WOW! Thank you for a beautiful place to stay and relax. We had the perfect steak and potato dinner for Thanksgiving! Grill worked great.

Dru and Wendy provided our group with a wonderful weekend get-away experience. We completely enjoyed our stay at Point of View! Being from flat Florida, the drive up to the house on the winding mountain road was an adventure in itself! The mountain views are absolutely stunning and spectacular! In late October, the leaves were beginning to change and the morning and evening air was cool and crisp. The home is clean, well-maintained, and well furnished. Comfortable couches, a large dining table, and a well-supplied kitchen made the weekend so easy! The beds were comfy and the linens of good quality. There is a gorgeous large stone fireplace! There is also a flat-screen TV, and Wi-Fi available. The wrap around deck was absolutely the best! I loved having my morning coffee on the deck overlooking the valley shrouded in fog…slowly lifting as the sunrise greeted the day! We enjoyed being at the home so much—fires in the fireplace, relaxing, cooking, reading, playing games, and enjoying the stunning views at sunrise and sunset, that it was difficult to leave the mountain and go explore the surrounding area. We did manage to visit an apple orchard and winery in Hendersonville, as well as explore the charming town of Brevard (home of the elusive white squirrel). We cannot wait to make this an annual autumn trip and stay at Point of View again! Wendy—Thank you again for the wonderful hospitality!

Thank you for letting us enjoy your house and the great views. Spent a day at the Biltmore Manor & Winery and walked our legs off at Triple Falls. Fabulous views of the falls, legs may never be the same. Looked through Brevard and found a great restaurant.

Thank you for “Point of View.” The location is perfect for the things my family loves and enjoys. The proximity to downtown Brevard, Dupont National (sorry, State) Forest, Pisgah National Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway is great. The views are spectacular. We will remember this special vacation for the rest of our lives. We will also plan on coming back to “Point of View” in the future and we will recommend it to our friends.

An absolute perfect place for a weekend in Brevard. Every view off the back porch was perfect- even seeing the rain clouds move in was perfect. The home was comfortable and clean. Our annual gathering of friends was vastly improved with the addition of “Point of View” & everyone who got to experience the views were amazed & jealous. Thank you for this amazing house and we look forward to coming back for years to come

Thank you for allowing us the use of your cabin for a quick New Year’s getaway. We discovered the treasure that is Pisgah Forest and will be back for more hiking. Would highly recommend the Daniel Ridge Loop trail for a day hike. Low temps were in the low teens and the fireplace was in constant use hence the firewood was very much appreciated.

Primary goal of our trip was pickup from Rockbrook Summer Camp (we have another at High Rocks). Great location for that! Soggy weather and flooding dampened our river plans but still enjoyed waterfalls at Pisgah & Dupont. Also mtn biked at Dupont. Enjoyed Dolly’s, Big Mike’s pizza, Quixote & Falls Landing. House was extremely comfortable, immaculate & well maintained. Thank you for sharing it with our party of 6 (plus and old lazy dog!)

Point of View was a perfect place for us to stay while our boys were at camp. The view couldn’t have been better. The cabin/house feels relatively isolated, but the directions were perfect and it is a quick drive down the mountain to Brevard. The house was clean, and the kitchen was very well-outfitted. It is not a luxury property, but it had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of clean towels and cozy blankets for our group! The owners and caretaker were available and helpful when we needed them.

Our family came to Brevard to relax, hike, celebrate two birthdays and to just enjoy time together! We loved the cabin, the gorgeous view, the cozy fire and the great dinners that we prepared (low country boil, wings…)… My brother and his wife met us here on Saturday for a hike and picnic to Laurel Creek and Sam’s Knob Trail. The view was amazing and we had many laughs along the way!:) The cabin and location were perfect for all that we wanted. The weekend made for a great memory and we hope to return!!

My family has always celebrated Christmas the weekend before the actual date, saving the 25th for the in-laws… Yes, my parents are VERY generous! Anyway, their house has become too small for 5 children, husbands & wives, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren… If we had to break a tradition, I’m thrilled it was HERE! We had so much fun with my husband and myself and our 2 boys and their wives and our 18 month old grandson. We had 2 rainy days and one absolutely gorgeous day… We could not have had a cozier place or panoramic view! Thanks!!

We’ve used VRBO in many places and countries and enjoyed our choices. This house was perfect for us all to be together and enjoy the hikes, bikes and access to Dupont Forest. We made our Thanksgiving feast in the kitchen without missing a pot! Wonderful visit.

Found you on VRBO.com and so glad we did. We came down from Connecticut to meet my daughter who lives in Chattanooga. We were joined by her wonderful college friends from the area. We had to leave a day early from Connecticut to beat storm Sandy before it hit the northeast and we are so happy we did! This has been a glorious vacation- the house is comfortable and welcoming and we all loved the views. We may have to stay an extra day though so the girls can finish the puzzle they found under the TV. Thank you so much for a wonderful place. We definitely want to come back to hike and enjoy this part of the country.

Thank you for sharing your home with us! We enjoyed the time here in Brevard. Having seen the nice fall colors at this time, we are certain we will be visiting again. With so many parks in the area and hikes and sights for all ages and fitness levels, this is the place to be! Your home offered everything needed and we felt right at home. Our short day trips to Pisgah National Forest, Dupont State Forest, Gorges State Park, Lake Toxaway were all enjoyable: we saw Sliding Rock, Caesars Head, Triple Falls, Rainbow Falls and the fish hatchery in Pisgah National Forest. We absolutely loved staying here, a beautiful location and a real home from home. The owners were really helpful in reference to local attractions, restaurants and amenities. We had driven to NC after seeing the sights of NYC and Washington DC. Staying in Brevard was the perfect place to relax and unwind and recharge the batteries in order to continue our drive to Florida. I would recommend the area for any age, the romancers amongst you, young and older families and those in their elder years. And Point of View with its great hosts makes for the ideal place to stay. Thank you for opening your home to others to enjoy. The view here is amazing! Your home provided the perfect ending to our nine day adventure from Charleston, SC to Nashville, TN with a final stop in Brevard before heading home. We enjoyed the beautiful view, the downtown shopping and great local food. Mayberry’s was wonderful. We visited the Pisgah National Forest a day to enjoy Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls and horseback riding at Pisgah Stables. We wish we could stay forever. This trip was for “girls only” in celebration of my daughters 15th birthday. Both mother and daughter had a wonderful time. We spent a long weekend here before dropping the oldest off at Camp Carolina. What a great place to return to after days filled with activities at Dupont, Pisgah and Asheville. The mountain air, the amazing views and great times all made for a great send-off.

We had an absolutely wonderful time! We came for the high school graduation and enjoyed so much more! We loved swimming & jumping at Coon Tree, loved Hawg Wild BBQ (service & food were fantastic) and The White Squirrel Festival was an added bonus! The house suited our needs perfectly. It is very well stocked and the view is outstanding!! We hope to come again!

What a great place to relax and enjoy the awesome view! It is close by downtown Brevard where there are many places to shop and eat. I would definitely recommend this house to family and friends.

We came here together as a family to get through our first holiday without our mother who died in August. Point of View gave us all what we needed- a place for all to be together, to cook, walk, watch movies and to stay up late talking. Everyone had some special moment, or chat or event- some treasure found in downtown Brevard. The view we woke up to every morning inspired us & welcomed us and the sun setting each day gave us comfort for a day well lived.

Sandy And Mark met Ellen and Don in SC and came up to the Point of View! The most amazing view indeed. Cozy house with an awesome view. We were very comfortable here and hope to come back again soon- nice to be so close to Brevard- great fireplace- will recommend to friends too. Great base for waterfall hunting

The view is fantastic. We got some great pictures of the sunset and view. The weather was perfect. Our family enjoyed hiking to Moore’s Cove. The grandkid’s found their own walking sticks and wanted to go hiking all the time. We also enjoyed making Smores. This is a great place to come and spend time with family. WOW- what an amazing view! We have enjoyed watching the sun set behind the mountain, the thousands of stars at night and the waking up to the beautiful fogged sky. My children love hearing all the cows moo in the morning 🙂 We will be back and we will bring others!

The perfect place for a bunch of college buddies to get together for the weekend. Plenty of mountain biking, fishing, trail roaming and kayaking within a very short drive. Great size and an awesome view. Our only request is a gas grill: we’re not good at baking and pretty much any meal we cook is on the grill. Look forward to coming back next year.

Thanks so much for our stay at “Point of View”. We went to Dupont Falls, which was very fun and beautiful. Our family reunion was great. We celebrated our grandmother’s 94th birthday! The view right outside the house was stunning. As I write this, the fog is hovering right in the valley. The cabin is very spacious and comfortable. Thanks!!
